New study: odds in contracting coronavirus on an airplane
MIT just came out with a study analyzing a passenger's chance of contracting coronavirus on an airplane. It looks like flying with and without middle seats booked is relatively safe in either case -- but that blocking middle seats can definitely help.
With middle seats blocked the chances of contracting the virus on a passenger plane look to be about 1 in 7,700.

Absolutely appreciate the sharing of this research! Well done.
Those are good odds compared to the high chances of catching the virus right here on the ground if you don't practice social distancing or wear a mask. It seems everything is possible - including business travel - as long as it is done safely and smartly!
Wow! I just commented and then had to edit on another post because I was hoping for a study showing that the middle seat made a difference. Thank you for posting this!
