Insights on protecting business travelers at home and abroad to ensure business continuity

How are you driving business continuity at your company while ensuring the health and safety of your traveling employees?

Sharing an article highlighting best practices on driving business continuity in times of uncertainty. I really like the call out on, "In our globalized economy, business travel is critical, and during challenging periods like this - virus outbreaks, natural disasters, political unrest - employers must ensure they fulfill their duty of care to employees."

Do you agree that it's imperative to know employee's whereabouts and be able to communicate with them while traveling to ensure they remain out of harm's way? If so, how are you doing so? Would love any tips on how you're driving business continuity and employee safety at your company.

  • I believe that business continuity needs to become an important tenet of joining an organization. The same way that organizations provide health insurance, they should also provide an extra layer of security when traveling or leaving home for the sake of the employer. As business continuity becomes a heightened priority, I think that we'll see employees becoming even more loyal and trusting of their organization. I think one of the simplest ways to do this is to make it easy to communicate with someone in HQ no matter where you are in the world. Business continuity can begin with something as simple as a Slack or WhatsApp message to a designated point of contact.
