Cool new key technology that blocks 99.99% of bacteria on key cards.
Ditto @Ryan Schwartz - innovative nano tech could be a new level of development when one thinks of business travel and employee safety, beyond the hotel experience.
Think of the multiple payment transactions one makes during a business trip - whether one uses their smart phone to make virtual payments, a physical card with the swiping + signing with a pen, and touching the key pads - all areas of possibilities.
As much as I like this idea, I'd like to push it further: wouldn't that be easier if it was ALL embedded in the traveller's phone? Meaning: no physical card at all or only as a back-up. For example: payment happens via e-Wallet (ApplePay/Google Play) or happen at Point of Sale, embedded in the corporate booking tools/apps, check-in/check-out and room key and room service available via an app...
Tech is up and running. Maybe it's the right time to redesign experiences to make them really seamless, and once it's safer again, we add the 'human touches' again.
Agreed, Aurelie_Krau. Cards with this incredible ability are a great backup or supplement to achieving a fully digital travel experience.
